India Tuberculosis Alleviation Initiative
Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant public health challenge in India, with the country accounting for a quarter of the global TB burden. Despite the government's efforts to combat TB through various programs, many government medical institutions face acute shortages of essential medicines, hampering effective treatment. The Jiv Daya Foundation (JDF) is committed to bridging this gap by providing crucial TB medicines to government medical colleges, DOT centers, civil hospitals, and chest clinics. This white paper outlines JDF's strategy to support TB treatment, detailing the eligibility criteria, medicine kits, and the potential for future diagnostic support. JDF is currently supporting 10 medical colleges across India and several DOT centers in Delhi by providing essential TB medicines. This initiative aims to address the immediate shortages faced by these institutions, ensuring that patients receive uninterrupted treatment.
