The Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences was established in 1983 under the SGPIMS Act of 1983. SGPGI offers a variety of medical courses as well as specialty services from departments ranging from hematology, medical oncology,nuclear medicine and radiotherapy. We currently have one palliative care project at this site.

The JDF palliative care project at SGPGI began in 2011, with the local champion, Dr. Sanjay Dheraaj. Dr. Dheraaj is an Additional Professor and Doctor in the Department of Anesthesiology. We currently support one data manager and one social worker at this site.
