Opened in 2007, Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary (PK-5) emphasizes a holistic approach to promoting their students’ achievement.

With 97% of their student body characterized by low socioeconomic background and 79% at risk for academic hardship, Henry B. Gonzalez has implemented various programs to enrich skills in technology, writing, and mathematics.

Henry B. Gonzalez joined StEP in 2013. Teachers have reported that Kindles help their low level and English Second Language readers improve their fluency, as well as increasing motivation to read.

Their mascot is the Senator.
