Government Medical College, Jammu was established in 1973, in order to provide quality education to students and serve as a referral hospital for the state. It started with 900 beds and after the addition of the Medical College Hospital building in 1993, they now have 1700 beds, as well as the Sir Col. R.N. Chopra Nursing Home. GMC Jammu serves patients from all over North India and is equipped with over 800 doctors and 1,000 paramedical staff. We currently have a pediatric oncology project at this site.

The pediatric oncology project at GMC Jammu began in Fall of 2014 with the support of our implementation partner CanKids...KidsCan. Our local champion is Dr. Sanjeev Digra, Assistant Professor in the Pediatrics Department. We currently support one social worker cum data manager at this site.
