Mahavir Cancer Sansthan & Research Centre (MCS) was established in 1998 to address the rising number of cancer patients and the lack of available cancer treatment centers in the region. MCS was started by Mahavir Mandir Trust with the intention of becoming a charitable cancer treating institute. Its objective is to provide quality and affordable cancer treatment to all patients in the northeastern region of India. We currently have one pediatric oncology project at this site.

We began the pediatric oncology project at MCS Patna with the support of our local partner, CanKids...KidsCan in 2011. Our local champion is Dr. Amita Mahajan, a pediatric oncologist. We support one social worker cum data manager at this site.
