Meenakshi Mission Memorial Hospital and Research Centre

Meenakshi Mission Memorial Hospital and Research Centre was founded in 1990 and is managed by the S.R. Trust, which was founded by Dr. N. Sethuraman. Since its inception in 1990, it has grown from having only 90 beds to having 800 beds, in addition to various specialty departments. Meenakshi Mission Memorial Hospital and Research Centre seeks to provide quality and affordable medical treatment to all people, which is made possible in part through the hospital's Camila Children Cancer Fund .  This fund was started by Dr. Somasundram Jayabose, renowned pediatric oncologist and one of our pediatric oncology advisory board members, to provide gap filling financial support for patients in need. We currently have one pediatric oncology project at this site.

The pediatric oncology project started in spring of 2011 under the direction of Dr. Jayabose, who was a practicing pediatric oncologist at Meenakshi Mission Hospital at that time. The project was later transferred to Dr. Kasi Viswanathan, a hematologist with training in pediatric oncology from Dr. Jayabose. We currently support one social worker and one nurse cum data manager at this site.
