Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital

The current Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital was borne out of the Sealdah Municipal Hospital and Sealdah Medial School, which were later converted to CampbellMedical College. Campbell Medical College was renamed after Dr. Nilratan Sircar in 1950, an India doctor, philanthropist, and former presidents of the Medical Education Society of Bengal from 1922-1941. NRS is one of the four government medical colleges in Kolkata and one of the oldest. It provides rigorous medical education to its students as well as quality healthcare to its patients. We currently have one pediatric oncology project at this site.

We began working at NRS through our local partner CanKids...KidsCan in 2013. Our local champion, Dr. Prantar Chakrabarti, is Professor and Head of the Department of Hematology. We currently support one social worker and one data manager at this site.
